Exam questions


The required extent of knowledge for the final exam is determined by the textbook, the content of lectures and seminars and the list of the exam questions. The pathophysiology lectures and seminars do not cover all the topics required for the exam entirely. We expect students are able to apply knowledge gained while studying other subjects. Also we expect students to acquire part of the knowledge by studying individually.


All exam terms are announced during the 4th week of the winter semester. The exam dates is summer semester exam period will be added if required later on.


The enrollment for the exam pre-terms and exam period terms starts during the 5th week of the winter semester (the exact date and time is indicated in SIS).


Last term to take the exam in September is indicated at SIS (NO EXAM TERMS ARE ALLOWED FOLLOWING THIS DATE)



Enrolling for the exam and signing off from the exam


Students can sign for the exam before he/she is awarded credit from the studied subject.


The enrollment for the exam starts as indicated in the SIS.


To sign for exam is possible at least 24 hours following the closure of the possibility to sign off.


Student may take the exam only if he/she is signed for the term in SIS and has met all the requirements for the Pathophysiology exam, i.e.:


o Received credit for the winter and summer semesters


o Had passed the subjects required to continue with pathophysiology


Student who fails to appear for exam without an excuse cannot enroll for the next term. Apology must be delivered to the head of the subject matter or authorized person of the department in writing or electronically. The apology should contain the explanation and appropriate evidence. The head of the subject matter may request clarification of the excuse if insufficient. Student is informed about the acceptance of the apology and that he/she can sign for another term.



Resit terms


Student has the right for one exam date and two retake dates (total 3 terms) during the exam period. Extraordinary retake is not permitted. If the student does not use the entire exam possibilities (3 terms) within the listed terms he/she does not have the right for special examination date (Law act: SZŘ UK čl. 6, odst. 16).


Exams cannot be held after the last examination date in September. Special or "dean" examination dates after listed official last exam date are not allowed (Law act: SZŘ UK čl. 6, odst. 16).



Course of the exams


Each exam, retake as well, consists of two parts.


1. Test part of the exam


Includes questions from entire subject matter (summer and winter semesters).


Students does not have to meet the exam test pass limit to continue with the oral part of the exam. The test results are taken into account in the exam assessment (failure to pass point limit result in a significant reduction of exam grade).


2. Oral exam

Consists of 3 questions (1 general pathophysiology, 2 organ pathophysiology).


Student who resits the exam for second time (third term) is examined by the committee of at least two examiners.
